Reproductive Health - Family planning

The second phase of the Sierra Leone Presidents Recovery Plan prioritised saving the lives of 600 women and 5000 children in 2016. Concerted efforts are ongoing to scale up programmes aimed at saving the lives of women and children. Maternal death reviews, improved mortality data collection, health care worker training and improved emergency triage and response are some of the interventions in place. The expectation is to effectively decrease maternal and child deaths. This remains a priority in 2017 and beyond. Findings on the availability of maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health (MNCAH) services follow.
